What is staff management software?

Can Sense replace WhatsApp groups and spreadsheets?

Yes. Holiday requests, task lists, documents and messages go through the Sense app, and hours and attendance are recorded automatically, so you no longer need to chase replies in group chats or keep spreadsheets up to date by hand.

Can we manage office, shift, agency and seasonal staff in one system?

Yes. Custom profile templates give each type of worker the right records, documents and self-service features, so office staff, shift workers, contractors, seasonal and agency staff can all be managed in Sense.

Do staff need a smartphone to use Sense?

No. Staff can use the free Sense app on their own phone, wear a Sense Badge, or use a shared wall-mounted kiosk. They can also clock in with a card, fingerprint or face on a Sense Clock.

How does task management work for shift workers?

Each worker sees their daily tasks and checklists on the Sense app or Badge, and ticks them off as they go. Managers can check the day's progress, see where and when each job was done, and see who is available for extra work.

Can Sense show where staff are on site?

Yes. Sense Gateways show who is in each area of a site in real time, so supervisors can spot where cover is short and redeploy the nearest available person. Location is only tracked during working time.

Does Sense calculate holidays and work with our payroll?

Yes. Sense calculates holiday entitlements, pro rata and TOIL, verifies each hour against actual attendance, and sends hours to payroll providers such as Sage, Xero, BrightPay and PayCaptain, or to any other payroll by export.

Can we import our existing staff data?

Yes. Bulk upload templates bring in your HR data and custom fields, and free data migration is available from other HR systems, so you can get started quickly.
