TOIL Request with Pay Option
Installing this workflow tells Sense to take every overtime request straight from an employee's profile to their manager for a yes or no, but lets the employee choose whether they'd rather bank the time as TOIL or be paid for it instead. Built for organisations that want to offer employees a choice at the point they log overtime.
How it works
Add your TOIL-or-paid dropdown then let Sense route requests either way
To use the TOIL Request with Pay Option workflow, simply create a TOIL event with entitlement deduction switched on (naming it exactly "TOIL"), and keep the "TOIL or Paid" dropdown on the employee's request screen.
Then, every time an employee logs overtime, Sense will automatically let them choose whether they want it banked as TOIL or paid instead, before sending the request to their line manager for approval.
If the request is approved, then the outcome follows whichever option the employee chose, either added to their TOIL entitlement or logged as a pay request, so managers always have a clear record of what was asked for.

What kicks this workflow off?
An employee adding a new overtime record and choosing whether they want TOIL or pay.
Who approves it?
The employee's line manager, who reviews the request and the employee's choice together.
Can I remove the pay option if we don't offer it?
Yes. The "TOIL or Paid" dropdown can be removed in Screen Designer without affecting the rest of the workflow.
Does the TOIL event need a specific name?
Yes. It must be named exactly "TOIL", adding a prefix or suffix will stop Sense from processing it.
