TOIL Request: Days or Hours (Both)
Installing this workflow tells Sense to take every overtime request straight from an employee's profile to their manager for a yes or no, then update their TOIL balance automatically the moment it's approved, in whichever unit that employee uses. Built for organisations with a mixed workforce, where some employees track TOIL in days and others in hours.
How it works
Set your mixed TOIL entitlements then let Sense handle requests in the right unit
To use the TOIL Request: Days or Hours (Both) workflow, simply create a TOIL event with entitlement deduction switched on (naming it exactly "TOIL"), covering employees whose entitlements are measured in days as well as those measured in hours.
Then, every time an employee logs overtime, Sense will automatically show them a "How is your TOIL entitlement measured?" choice so they can log the request in whichever unit matches their own entitlement, before sending it to their line manager for approval.
If the request is approved, then the correct amount is added automatically to the employee's TOIL entitlement, in days or hours as appropriate, updated on both their dashboard and planner.

Who is this workflow for?
Organisations where TOIL entitlements aren't uniform, some employees are measured in days, others in hours.
What kicks this workflow off?
An employee adding a new overtime record and selecting whether their entitlement is measured in days or hours.
Who approves it?
The employee's line manager.
What happens after approval?
The logged amount is added automatically to the employee's TOIL entitlement, in the correct unit for that employee, with no manual balance update needed.
Does the TOIL event need a specific name?
Yes. It must be named exactly "TOIL", adding a prefix or suffix will stop Sense from processing it.
