Clocking & attendance

Verify Attendance Workflow

TimeAttendance

Installing this workflow tells Sense to flag manually logged attendance for a manager to check. Whenever someone records their hours by hand rather than clocking in and out live, through the Planner or the mobile app, their manager gets a task to confirm the entry is accurate before it's treated as verified.

How it works

Set up your Attendance Logs screen then let Sense route manual entries for review

  1. To use the Verify Attendance Workflow, simply install it from the Workflow Hub, which adds an Attendance Logs screen to the Employee Profile template with Action, Earliest In and Latest Out fields plus a Review checkbox, and set up a Manager variant where only that Review checkbox can be edited.

  2. Then, every time an employee manually logs their attendance through the Planner or mobile app, Sense will automatically create a new record on the Attendance Log screen.

  3. If the record needs checking, then the manager gets an email and a to-do item, and marking the Review checkbox confirms it as verified so it can be reported on accurately.

Common questions

What kicks this workflow off?

An employee manually logging their working hours through the Planner or mobile app, rather than clocking in and out in real time.

What happens once it fires?

A new record appears on the employee's Attendance Log screen, and their manager gets an email plus a to-do item asking them to check it.

Who gets notified?

The employee's manager, every time a manual attendance record is created.

Is this workflow suitable for employees who clock in and out live?

No. It's built for end-of-day manual entries rather than real-time clocking, so it isn't recommended for employees who already clock in and out live.
