Professional is priced by team size in five bands: Micro (up to 10) at £20/month, Starter (up to 25) at £45, Standard (up to 50) at £85, Growth (up to 100) at £150, Scale (up to 200) at £270. Past 200 employees you're likely better off on Elite — talk to us.
Why pick Sense over the small UK HR tools?+
Two reasons. First — AMI is included in Professional. Most legacy UK HR tools don't offer AI in their entry tier; some don't offer it at all. AMI answers HR questions, drafts letters, and searches your records in natural language. Second — Sense is the only UK HR system with its own clock. Add a Sense Clock from £10 / clock / month (Compliance Launch offer; list £20) and you have verified site-based time tracking under one bill, one support team. Nobody else in the SMB tier does this.
Do I need a physical clock-in for my zero-hours / hospitality / retail / care staff under the April 2026 rules?+
In April 2026 the UK introduced new holiday-pay record-keeping rules, enforced by the newly launched Fair Work Agency. Employers must now evidence how they calculate holiday pay for irregular workers on a 52-week average. Software-only attendance can be challenged at tribunal — the audit trail isn't strong enough on its own. A timestamped physical clock-in (or a biometric clock) gives you the kind of evidence the law expects. Sense Clock is the cheapest UK-compliant option — list price £20 / clock / month, currently £10 / clock / month on the Compliance Launch offer. For higher-touch sites, Anviz biometric clocks and Sense Badge are on Elite. Sense is the only UK HR system shipping its own compliance-grade clock hardware.
How does the Sense Clock add-on work on Professional?+
The Sense Clock is our own-brand wall-mounted RFID clock. List price on Professional is £20 per clock, per month, currently discounted to £10 per clock, per month on our Compliance Launch offer (tied to the April 2026 Fair Work Agency rules). Annual hardware contract. Order one or many — mount at site, hand out cards or fobs, and clock events flow into Sense HR for timesheet approval and payroll. Note: Anviz biometric clocks (face / fingerprint) and Sense Presence (Gateways, Badges, Tags) are Elite-tier only.
Why £2 PEPM if Breathe and others go lower?+
Sense Professional includes things others charge as add-ons — AMI HR assistant, native UK payroll integrations, the self-serve data loader, UK chat support, all of it. The effective PEPM on Sense at 25 employees is £1.80; at 100 it's £1.50. Per pound, you get more — and with AMI in the base price, the comparison isn't close once you cost in what most legacy tools charge for AI add-ons (if they have them at all).
Why only two plans?+
Most buyers fall cleanly into one of two camps. Either you want office HR done properly, fast, at sensible price — that's Professional. Or you need the full platform: ATS, AMI agents, T&A, hardware, workflow automation, dedicated implementation — that's Elite. A confusing middle tier wastes everyone's time.
Can I upgrade from Professional to Elite later?+
Yes — in two clicks. Your data, settings and history all carry over. We typically run a one-off 'upgrade workshop' with a UK specialist to switch on ATS, Automate, T&A and AMI agents in the right order.
How does the 14-day free trial work?+
Sign up with your work email, no credit card needed. You get a real Sense HR tenant with the data loader ready — import your team and try the product on real data. At day 14, you decide. No auto-conversion to paid.
Is implementation really free on Elite?+
Yes. A dedicated UK implementation specialist runs the project end-to-end — configuration, data migration from your current system, training, parallel-run if you want one. Typical go-live is 2–4 weeks. No setup fee, no per-day consulting bill.
How much does Sense Clock and the rest of the hardware cost?+
Hardware is priced per device, per site. Sense Clock starts at £0 with a 24-month commitment; Anviz biometric clocks scale with the device chosen; Sense Badge is priced per wearer. We quote per site on a scoping call.
Do you offer volume discounts?+
Elite gets meaningful volume discounts from 250 employees up. Professional bands cap at 200 — past that you're probably an Elite customer. Above 1,000 employees, look at Sense Workplace.
Is the contract annual or monthly?+
Professional: monthly rolling or annual (10% off annual). Cancel anytime on monthly. Elite is annual to fund the implementation we do for free.
